The position
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Deck Foreman with expertise in offshore flexi-lay operations. The Assistant Deck Foreman will support the Deck Foreman in managing deck activities, equipment maintenance, and crew coordination .
The ideal candidate should have a strong background in flexi-lay operations, possess excellent leadership skills, and demonstrate a high level of attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Deck Foreman in overseeing and coordinating deck activities.
- Work closely with the Deck Foreman and crew members to ensure the safe and efficient execution of flexi-lay projects, adhering to project plans, safety protocols, and quality standards.
- Help prepare the deck and necessary equipment for flexi-lay operations, including mobilization, installation, and maintenance of equipment and tools.
- Support the training and supervision of deck crew members, ensuring their proficiency in flexi-lay procedures and adherence to safety protocols.
- Collaborate with the engineering team and other departments to resolve technical issues or challenges encountered during flexi-lay operations.
- Monitor the condition of deck equipment specifically used in flexi-lay operations, identify maintenance needs, and coordinate repairs or replacements.
- Conduct regular inspections of deck areas, equipment, and safety systems to ensure compliance with standards and regulations pertaining to flexi-lay operations.
- Assist in preparing reports, documenting operational activities, and maintaining accurate records of equipment usage, inventory, and maintenance specifically related to flexi-lay projects.
- Actively participate in safety drills, safety meetings, and incident investigations, contributing to the continuous improvement of safety operations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent education. Additional technical or vocational certifications in offshore operations are preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working on flexi-lay vessels, with a strong understanding of flexi-lay operations, including equipment installation, tensioning, and pipe handling.
- In-depth knowledge of offshore construction and installation techniques, including relevant industry standards and best practices for flexi-lay operations.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to effectively manage and motivate crew members in the context of flexi-lay projects.
- Proficiency in operating deck equipment, tools, and machinery commonly employed in flexi-lay operations.
- Solid understanding of safety procedures and protocols specific to flexi-lay operations, with a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
- Flexibility to work in offshore locations for extended periods, adhering to rotational schedules and adapting to changing project requirements.
